Family Portrait - Giclée

 I stand holding my daughter, in an embrace with my mother beneath a weathered tree in a graveyard. We stand in the prairie, the Metis sash pattern runs through the grass. This is Metis land. This is our ancestor's land.

My fourth great grandfather, Cyprien Morin, on my mother's father's line owned this land, just outside Meadow Lake, Sask. The graveyard we are in is named after him and several of my ancestors from different branches on my family tree are buried here. My mom used to play in this tree, she grew up just a stones throw away. 

This piece is a favorite of mine. The original will be a family heirloom.

A giclée is a high quality archival product made one at a time which can last 100-200 years without significant fading when framed properly.
