A woman breathes life into a smudge bowl which lights her face up. A tipi casts a warm glow behind her and Metis florals erupt on both sides. In the prophecy of the seven sacred fires, it's told that there will be a time when we will begin to pick back up the pieces of our culture. This painting celebrates all of the women who are working hard to keep the fire of our culture alive.

The ninth painting in my collection, Otipemisewak
